Novellia had an incredible time at this year’s Fierce Pharma Week in Philadelphia. Between Shashi’s panel, meaningful conversations on the floor, and the buzz across the convention center, one thing was clear: the appetite for smarter, clearer, more actionable evidence is growing.

But let’s be honest: most real-world evidence isn’t landing the way it should.

Not because it’s wrong. Not because the science is lacking.

But because it’s fragmented, misaligned, or delivered in ways that don’t support decision-making across the very teams that need it most.

We see this tension everywhere—from HEOR leads wrestling with survival models that never leave the slide deck, to field teams trying to explain care variation with disconnected data points, to access teams asking for clarity that’s buried under dashboards.

At Novellia, we often say: Evidence doesn’t drive action unless it tells a story. A real story. A longitudinal, contextual, clinically grounded story that stakeholders can understand—and use.

On Stage: Turning Insight into Impact

During the panel session: “The Power of Data-Driven Insights: Harnessing Real-World Evidence and Communication Strategies to Drive Patient-Centered Care,” our CEO and Co-Founder, Shashi Shankar, had the chance to dig into these hard questions with some of the sharpest folks in the industry:

  • Peter Covitz, the Executive Director, Head Digital Innovation, Data Generation & Managed Access at Alexion
  • Archie Stone, Ph.D., the Vice President, Medical Affairs at Aurinia Pharma
  • Utpal Parekh, the Partner and Life Sciences Subject Matter Expert at Avira
  • Moderated by Deepa Lalla, B.Pharm, PhD, the Vice President of Evidence Generation, Publications & Partnerships at AstraZeneca

Together, we explored the reality that it’s not just a data problem, it’s a clarity problem.

The overwhelming consensus? RWE won’t reach its potential unless we can communicate insights clearly, in ways that actually influence strategy, access, and care.

From the Floor: What We Heard Loud and Clear

We asked folks on the floor three questions:

  1. If you could give patients one superpower, what would it be?
  2. What’s the biggest challenge you’re facing with RWD?
  3. What innovation will reshape biopharma in the next 1–2 years?

The answers were thoughtful, honest, and eye-opening.

Everyone wants better for patients.

Teams are overwhelmed—not underinformed. “There’s just too much data” was the #1 response we heard at our booth. Accuracy, clarity, and flexibility are the new table stakes for RWE.

And nearly every conversation came back to this: “AI might finally be the tool to reinvent the wheel.”

It’s Not Just a Data Problem. It’s a Clarity Problem.

At Novellia, we believe evidence only drives action when it tells a story. A full, longitudinal, clinically grounded, permissioned patient story.

We use AI to clean, connect, and sequence scattered records into narratives that are:

  1. Clinically meaningful
  2. Easily communicated
  3. Built to move across teams and influence real-world decisions

Because if your insights can’t travel—whether that’s across functions, into the field, into the formulary—they won’t move the needle.

What’s Next: Building a Patient-Centered, AI-Powered Future

To everyone who came to the panel, stopped by the booth, or swapped ideas with our team: thank you. This week reminded us that the industry is ready for something better.

Not just more data—but smarter systems, clearer insights, and evidence that actually works for patients.

The future is patient-centered, and it’s AI-powered. Let’s build it.
