Novellia's Founding Director of Product joins leaders from Teladoc, Kin Health, and Reperio Health in Dallas on October 29 to discuss what patients need as care moves at the speed of everyday life.
Novellia is heading to Dallas. Angeline Chen, Novellia's Founding Director of Product, will speak at MedCity INVEST Digital Health on October 29 at Pegasus Park, joining Adam Weinstein of Teladoc, Arpan Parikh of Kin Health, and Travis Rush of Reperio Health on the panel "How Convenience Is Reshaping Clinical Strategy." Health Wildcatters CEO Hubert Zajicek will moderate the conversation, which explores how health systems and digital health companies are meeting patients' expectations for everyday convenience, and how that shift can improve loyalty, adherence, and outcomes.
Angeline has led product at Novellia since its founding, building the company's free patient app through ongoing interviews with people managing serious conditions. She joins the panel with a product perspective shaped directly by patients.
MedCity News' INVEST Digital Health conference brings together investors, startups, and industry leaders from across healthcare. This year's program, produced in collaboration with Health Wildcatters, centers on people ordering their own diagnostics, tracking their health with wearables, and expecting care to work like the other services they use every day. Sessions cover direct-to-consumer diagnostics, drugmakers launching direct-to-consumer platforms, and the evidence digital health companies need to prove their value, alongside an innovation showcase of emerging health tech companies.
That shift brings Novellia to INVEST. As care moves closer to the consumer, a person's complete health history becomes the foundation for every decision about their care.
Every convenient touchpoint adds another entry to a patient's medical history. A telehealth visit, a pharmacy refill, and a specialist across town each produce a record, and each record stays with the organization that created it. Published studies estimate that a single health system holds 16 to 27 percent of a patient's actual care. The rest is spread across the providers, labs, pharmacies, and insurers that person has seen over a lifetime.
Gathering that history has long fallen on patients themselves, through portal logins, records requests, phone calls, and faxes. The 21st Century Cures Act gave patients a legal right to their electronic health information and required health systems to provide a standardized path to it. Exercising that right across every provider still demands time and persistence that most people summon only during a health crisis.
Novellia offers a free app that assembles each person's medical history from every provider, hospital, lab, and insurer they have used, reaching back twenty years. We harmonize those records into one continuous history and keep it current as new care happens. Angeline leads the product team behind that experience, and she is bringing what we have learned about making a complete health history usable for the person whose story it tells.
Convenience shapes evidence as much as it shapes care. When a person can see and manage their full history, they stay engaged with it. When they choose to share that history for research, it arrives as one continuous record assembled around them, with the clinician's notes and the patient's own reported experience on the same timeline.
That continuity matters to HEOR, RWE, and Medical Affairs teams studying treatment patterns, long-term outcomes, and the reasons patients start, switch, or stop a therapy. The strength of the evidence grows from the strength of the patient relationship. Research revenue keeps the Novellia app free, and patients can revoke their authorization at any time, so the value patients receive and the evidence sponsors need grow from the same record.
Health systems, digital health companies, and drug developers serve the same patients this panel will discuss. Novellia participates in forums like INVEST because the decisions made about patient experience today determine the quality of the evidence available tomorrow.
Novellia's mission is to help every person reclaim ownership of their health, one medical record at a time.
Patients have waited too long for easy access to their own medical records, the information they need to advocate for their own care. Healthcare has grown skilled at making each visit convenient, from booking to documentation to billing. Each new convenience also adds another source to a person's health story, including wearables, at-home diagnostics, virtual visits, and AI assistants, and connecting all of it has fallen to the patient.
Angeline will share her perspective on what convenience means for the people who need it most. She'll talk about the work patients with cancer and other serious conditions take on to manage their records across ten or more providers, and how that same fragmentation shapes what life sciences teams can learn about real patient journeys. She'll also discuss what Novellia has learned about building the record around the person, and what convenience looks like for patients advocating for the right diagnosis or treatment.
